The session begins with a presentation of the "question-answer" approach to faith in Jesus Christ, leading to the discovery that in Christ God has given us the definitive answer to out most profound question about life and its meaning.

Based on the texts of Pope John Paul II, Prof. Bushman reflects on the fact that "The truth that God is Love constitutes as it were the apex of all that has been revealed and that this love, revealed in Jesus Christ, is "a summary and synthesis of the Good News."

He then proceeds to comment on a series of texts taken from Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger which show that love cannot be understood apart from truth and the salvific suffering of Christ.
